Christopher O'Callaghan, partner, and Peter Sweetser of Albert B. Ashforth Inc. represented the tenant, which is also known in the industry as Henningson, Durham & Richardson. Jeffrey H. Newman, executive vice president of W&M Properties of NY LLC represented the building owner, 711 Westchester Ave LLP, an affiliate of the Malkin family.
The 711 Westchester Ave. office building totals 120,000 sf and is part of W&M Properties' White Plains Office Park. O'Callaghan says that with the HDR lease, the property is nearly fully leased.
"We recently added more than 25 people to our operation in this location and our intent is to grow even more in the future," says Richard Splete, vice president of HDR. "Our office space became overcrowded and it was necessary to expand."
HDR has more than 3,700 employee-owners, including architects, engineers, consultants, scientists, planners and construction managers, in more than 100 locations worldwide, company officials say. In January, the firm acquired two community-planning firms based on the West Coast--LCA Town Planning & Architecture of Portland, OR and Sargent Town Planning in Ventura, CA.
