The 29-year-old, Munich-based commercial real estate developer and investor recruited McFadden from the local office of Atlanta-based Advantis Real Estate Services Co. McFadden was an executive director at Advantis, a St. Joe Co.-owned firm.
McFadden tells GlobeSt.com his move from Advantis to Taurus was an easy relocation. "Taurus was my largest client for the prior 15-year period so it was a logical step" for him to head up the company's Central Florida operations, he says. He will specifically target opportunities north of Palm Peach. "My goal is to substantially increase the volume of the Florida operation, including Tampa and Jacksonville," McFadden says.
Taurus began its US operations in Pompano Beach in 1979. "While previously focusing on German capital, since 2001 Taurus has become a trusted partner for US investors, while expanding its access to capital in many parts of the world," McFadden says.
Heidi Adams, a former Pizzuti Inc. professional in Orlando, also joins Taurus and will coordinate leasing activities for the firm's Central Florida portfolio. When Minneapolis-based Welsh Cos. acquired Pizzuti's brokerage and property management divisions in the 1990s, Adams became Welsh's director of operations and marketing.
And when Carter & Associates of Atlanta acquired Welsh's Orlando office, Adams was promoted to vice president of brokerage operations. In October 2002, Adams tells GlobeSt.com she made "the best move of my [18-year] career" when she joined up with McFadden in the Orlando office of Advantis Real Estate Services Co. "I finally made the jump to the commission side of our business," Adams says.
