"This acquisition enables Atisreal to enhance its service offering and presence in the important City of London market, to consolidate and add critical mass to its recently opened office in Cardiff, and to expand its operations into the new markets of Leeds, Newcastle and Southampton," a statement by Atisreal explains.
Greg Cooke, chairman of Atisreal UK, says: "The UK is one of the most important markets in the European real estate sector and is a key area for investment and expansion for the Atisreal Group. We will now employ over 650 people operating from 14 offices across the UK and will become one of the top 10 real estate service providers.''
"We are delighted to have concluded our negotiations so quickly as it allows us to reassure the staff working in the offices concerned that their jobs are secure,'' Cooke adds.
Grant Thornton partners Martin Ellis and Nigel Morrison are in negotiations with several interested parties and are hoping to conclude a deal by the end of the weekend. A spokesman says: "We are confident that a deal can be struck by the weekend so staff at those offices will come into work on Monday knowing their jobs are safe."
The business was placed into administration on Tuesday, mainly due to heavy losses on the commercial side of the company, as previously reported on GlobeSt.com.
