To revitalize its Downtown, Southbridge officials are suggesting 23 Downtown acres for a multimillion-dollar redevelopment area that would comprise an undetermined amount office, retail and residential built above the commercial projects. The redevelopment site would be bordered by East Atlanta Road, North Henry Boulevard and North Lee and Bryant streets.
First on the city's proposed to-do list is the physical relocation of City Hall to an undeveloped tract near North Lee Street, according to brokers familiar with this submarket. The city also is negotiating with individual landowners for other sites it may want to redevelop.
