During his 20 years at C&W, Gialanella held a range of senior management positions. He lead the firm's retail services business as well as oversaw world-wide information technology, research, marketing, communications and quality management functions and managed operations for the firm's New York region. He also served as senior vice president for global business development. C&W officials did not comment by deadline.

In his new role, Gialanella will be responsible for working with all CBRE services to create new business opportunities with a focus on enhancing the flow of business from the firm's Asian and European operations. Mitch Rudin, president of CBRE's New York Tri-State region, says Gialanella's decision to join the firm "underscores both the strength of our global platform as well as our commitment to attracting and retaining the best professionals in the industry."

Gialanella will also develop and implement new business initiatives, marketing strategies, targeted direct sales programs, cross-border and cross-function sales efforts as well as methods to improve global marketing and brand recognition. Gialanella will report to Rudin and be based in CBRE's office here. Gialanella began his career at Fantus, a consulting firm specializing in corporate location planning and economic development. He then spent several years with McManis Associates, a Washington, DC-based management and strategy consultant firm.
