Within the last 12 months, Archway has expanded its operations facilities through new construction in Rogers and Greenfield, as well as through a new building acquisition in Valencia, CA. "The new facility was built to manage new business opportunities as well as growth from existing clients," says Don Plantenberg, general manager of Archway's materials distribution and trade fulfillment division in the Midwest. "The timing worked out great. We were able to take advantage of the available lot that sat directly west of our existing Rogers facility."
Clay Perfall, Archway's chief executive officer, says the company was able to streamline operations to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs by consolidating smaller facilities into centralized locations, upgrading physical security controls, and through the implementation and utilization of more automated production tools. Archway's 217,000-sf facility in Greenfield was also built by Opus Northwest in this town about 14 miles west of the Twin Cities. The building will be part of Greenfield Business Park, a new business park being developed by Opus for additional build-to-suit projects. The Greenfield project was recently awarded the NAIOP Award of Excellence in the build-to-suit-bulk distribution category.
