DALLAS-A local retail developer has a 20,000-sf shopping center ready to break ground in 60 days in Tarrant County while crews are poised to go vertical any day on a 16,000-sf project in Dallas County.

Don Silverman, managing partner of Margaux Development Co., tells GlobeSt.com that the 20,000-sf Longhorn Shops, positioned on roughly 10 acres at the border of Fort Worth and Saginaw, is now 60% preleased, meaning the time has come to plan for a groundbreaking at the hard corner of Old Decatur Road and Longhorn Drive. Silverman has acquired several key tracts in Tarrant County along Interstate 820, a hotspot of activity in all directions.

In Dallas County, Lakeview Plaza is rising on 10 acres at the corner of Route 66 and Gordon Smith Dr. The development neighbors a recently opened Home Depot.Silverman has several projects of all sizes working simultaneously in both counties. Despite the popularity of mixed-use development, Silverman's trademark is all traditional retail with grocery anchors or big-box neighbors.
