"We opened the sales office a month ago and 80% of the first-tower units are sold," he says. "We didn't pre-sell units before we began construction because people are familiar with Porto Vita, which is directly across the street, and Turnberry Isle Resort & Golf Club, which this property overlooks. Also, it's a great address and occupies the last remaining undeveloped site on Country Club Drive, so buyers began lining up as soon as we broke ground." His company, which is headed by Jeffrey Soffer, developed Porto Vita, a two-building, 370-unit condo complex, and the resort and golf club which includes the 377-unit Turnberry on the Green, along with several other Aventura properties, including Aventura Mall.

Interior space of the one-, two- and three-bedroom units in Turnberry Village ranges from 914 sf to 1,702 sf , and all units have balconies overlooking the golf resort, the Atlantic Ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway. Selling prices begin in the low $400,000s and reach to above $800,000.

Construction of the first phase includes the parking garage and amenities for the property. Among them is an indoor/outdoor recreation deck, located five stories above landscaped gardens. The deck includes a pool, spa, sauna, weight room and billiard room. The complex will also have a children's playground and teen center. The second tower will break ground 10 months after completion of Phase I, Weiner says.
