"Under his [Donges] direction, Lane Co. has become a recognized leader in the multifamily industry," says Lane. "The long-term changes which he helped implement have led the firm toward increased profits and productivity."
Donges joined Lane Co. in 2002 after a lengthy stint as CEO and president of Atlanta-based VistaScape Technology Corp. Donges has been a senior management professional for 20 years. George Lane credits Donges with "spearheading intensive strategic planning." That concept consolidated the previously independent investment and development, construction, property management and condo companies into "one unified Lane Co.," Lane says.
Under Donges' direction, Lane Co. started six multifamily projects in the $2-billion Atlantic Station redevelopment in Midtown Atlanta; built the sold-out Radius condominiums in Hollywood, FL; constructed the Decatur Renaissance condos in Decatur; and completed the redevelopment and renovation of Dulaney Valley Apartments in Towson, MD.
George Lane says Donges also helped form a nonprofit organization, Community Life Concepts, which is designed to improve the lives of low income and elderly residents. "He also encouraged the firm to continue its tradition of being the largest contributor of food to the Apartment Association's annual Food-a-Thon which benefits the Atlanta Food Bank," Lane adds.
