Rentacrate Inc. has leased 12,850 sf at 2010 Century Center Blvd. in Irving, a 166,807-sf industrial building owned by Boston-based TA Associates Realty. Rentacrate inked a five-year, flat-rate lease with six months of free rent at an effective rate that's just a shade below $5 per sf, Steve Wolff with Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Dallas office tells GlobeSt.com.
Wolff, the tenant rep, says Rentacrate's been looking since last August for a relocation site. Besides the economics, the corporate mover's decision was swayed by the offer of a building sign on the side facing Texas 183. The May 1 move-in will coincide with the lease expiration at 8911 Governor's Row, where the firm operates out of 10,000 sf. Jason O'Quinn with Holt Lunsford Commercial in Dallas represented the building owner.
The Dallas/Fort Worth distribution center is one of eight in the Boston-based Rentacrate's network. The only other Texas city in the system is Houston, but Wolff says the corporate chiefs have their eyes on Austin.
