The hall brings the total meeting space at Coronado Springs to 220,000 sf, the largest in Disney's 20-hotel portfolio here. The new and existing space are all on one level, a plus for meeting planners scheduling events for their clients, area brokers tell GlobeSt.com.
Two other Disney hotel properties, the Swan and Dolphin hotels linked by meeting space and amenities, are also competing for meeting space business, opening a new art gallery and scheduling a fall opening for a new spa. The Swan and Dolphin combined offer 329,000 sf of meeting and convention space, the largest amount in the Disney compound. The two hotels combined have 2,267 rooms, also the largest on the Disney campus.
Meanwhile, a Disney hotel competitor, the 778-room Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World, has completed a $1-million renovation of 16 breakout room on the second floor, including five executive boardrooms. The Renaissance Orlando has 185,000 sf of flexible meeting space.
