Commerce Bank secured a $13-million construction loan to finance the project, which broke ground in August 2004 and will reach completion in early fourth quarter 2004.
All units include terraces, and they range from 887-sf one-bedroom layouts to two-bedroom, two-bath penthouse units containing 1,027 sf, plus 151-sf terraces. The prices ranged from $182,000 to $272,950. The sellout was approximately $22 million.
A recreation area on the fourth floor contains a fitness center, bar and billiards table, covered terrace, sundeck, pool and barbecue area. Amenities also include assigned parking in a covered garage. The ground floor contains approximately 5,500 sf of retail space. The architect of the Mediterranean-style structure is Behar-Font & Partners, which also designed H&H's Gables View condo property at 1627 S. Douglas Rd.
H&H currently has seven projects in its portfolio. Among them are Mediterranea, Solaris and Mondrian. Hernandez refers to his projects as "boutique properties" and tells GlobeSt.com his company is "fulfilling a niche in the market for centrally located properties that are more reasonably priced than most other condominium projects…and incorporate an amenity package typically found in large high-rise developments."
