Mesirow looked at a handful of other Boston properties but was won over by the 21-story tower's class A status and location. "It's the right asset for them to kick off their Boston operation," Peter Conlin, with CB Richard Ellis' Boston office tells GlobeSt.com. "It gives them a great identity in Boston."
The firm, which provides consulting, litigation support and other services to distressed companies, will occupy a portion of the building's 16th floor. David Provost, senior vice president of leasing for owner Boston Properties, says the consulting firm was looking for a convenient location that would offer high visibility for their first venture into this market. "265 Franklin provided the identity and quality they were looking for."
Terms of the lease arrangement were not released but the 350,000 sf building, which occupies an entire block across the street from Post Office Square Park and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, generally rents for between $38 and $43 per sf. Provost, as well as leasing representatives Lauren Phelan and Phil Dorman, also with Boston Properties worked with Meredith & Grew's executive vice president, Larry Epstein, assistant vice president and associate Pat Buckley to represent the owner. Conlin handled the transaction for the tenant.
