Developer Antonio Evangelista of Sterling Heights recently received approval for a 160-home development. The new subdivision will be built just west of the Township Hall and Recreation Center, which opened in late 2003, and a new two-rink ice arena expected to open by early September.
Construction of the homes in the new subdivision, Pheasant Run, could begin this summer. Macomb Township has added more than 20,000 residents since 2000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and, as of July 2004, had a population of just over 70,000 people.
