Locally based Point Therapeutics, Inc., which develops small molecule drugs for cancer and infectious disease treatments, selected the site because of it's proximity to the firm's Kneeland Street laboratory, located just a few blocks away, Jeffrey Becker, senior vice president of NAI Hunneman Commercial, tells GlobeSt.com.
"This building offers an optimal Boston location for Point Therapeutics. It offers them absolute convenience to their life science laboratory," he said, noting that the firm, which will relocate its offices from 125 Summer St., will take a full floor at 155 Federal St. and about half that much space at 10 High St., a connected building that is part of the complex.
Becker, citing a confidentiality agreement, declined to discuss terms of the five-year lease but says space at the 250,000 sf complex generally rents for about $28 per sf.
The transaction was negotiated for the tenant by Becker and Steve James, executive vice president with NAI Hunneman Commercial. Bob Connors of Lincoln Properties represented the landlord, Farley, KNH Realty Trust.
