Five brokerages were bidding for the leasing contract, people in a position to know tell GlobeSt.com. The Wilson Co. of Tampa had previously leased the building. In a prepared statement, Michael Lerner, vice president, ACP, says his firm is "pleased to have secured the leasing and repositioning services of a company with the strength and resources that Trammell Crow Co. brings to the table."

Wilson Co. officials couldn't be reached for comment and Lerner didn't disclose why a leasing personnel change was made at this time.

However, a source familiar with the city's Downtown redevelopment plans, tells GlobeSt.com "ACP felt Trammell Crow Co. was best suited for the assignment from a timing scenario." Terms of the contract weren't disclosed, including its length. "The agreement is open-ended," Claire Calzon, TCC senior vice president of office leasing, tells GlobeSt.com. Senior associates Emily Ingerick and Leslie Curry will work with Calzon to raise the building's leasing level.

"With its substantial contiguous space, convenient location and identity opportunities, the building is an ideal headquarters site for businesses of all sizes," Calzon says. She adds, "The tower is a unique product of renowned architect Harry Wolf's concept of linking Tampa's past and future."

The 17-year-old building, located at 400 North Ashley Dr. along the Hillsborough River and serving as a gateway to the city's arts district, has 23 tenants. The average asking gross rent range is $19 per sf. The floor plates average 16,369 sf.

ACP acquired 400 North Ashley Plaza in January, paying New York-based Colonnade Properties LLC $35 million or $68.25 per sf.
