Dow Adds Two Midland Plants

MIDLAND, MI-Dow Chemical will spend $5 million on two small plants in mid-Michigan.

Dow Agrosciences is also building a new plant inMidland to manufacture a new herbicide. DowAgrosciences will spend $3.6 million on improvements,machinery and equipment.Jenee Velasquez, director of Midland Tomorrow, saysthe projects mean $850,000 in new constructioncontracts for the Midland area. The Midland city council approved tax abatements forboth projects this week.
