MALDEN, MA-Locally based 318 Main Street Corp., was the top bidder for a fully occupied 24,000-sf retail building in Malden Square. The retail site has sold for $7.6 million in a transaction that gives the new owner prime shop space in the center of the city.
Jonathan Aron, vice president of NAI/Hunneman Commercial in Boston tells GlobeSt.com that the property at 318 and 320 Main St. was quietly marketed but found several investors interested in bidding on the three-story building. "This site is as good as it gets for an urban retail location," says Aron. ""It has everything needed including great visibility, plenty of passing traffic, a great parking lot and it's fully leased."
The building is occupied by Walgreens Drug Store, Blockbuster Video and D'Angelo Sub Shop under long-term lease agreements. Aron along with Robert Tito, executive vice president and principal at Hunneman represented both the buyer and seller in the negotiations.
