"Tim's leadership has brought great success and respect to our Dallas office," Harvey E. Green, president and CEO of Marcus & Millichap, says in a press release. The Dallas office's sales volume is ranked 16 in the firm's 38-office network, which will be adding offices in Miami and a New York City borough by midsummer.
"Our growth in the past couple years is up 77% year over year," Speck tells GlobeSt.com. He says the office's multifamily group this month will close $200 million of deals involving 37 properties.
Speck, who came to Dallas as regional manager after a stint as sales manager in Phoenix, will spend this year in an expansion mode. He is planning to add up to 15 agents and double the local office's division of Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. "I'm looking for talented people," he says. Meanwhile, the 7,000-sf office on the ninth floor of Centura Tower at 14185 N. Dallas Pkwy. will move to a 14,000-sf spot on the sixth floor by mid-July.
Speck started as a sale assistant in Dallas in 1993 and became a sales associate the following year. In 1996, he was named divisional research manager and three years later named manager of major account services. He is credited with helping to develop the firm's industry-leading packaging and financial analysis models.
