Darryl Morse, with the Codman Co. in Boston, tells GlobeSt.com that ITA will move into the sixth and seventh floor in the 10-story brick building in October as part of its expansion plans. The company, which creates software for airfare pricing, airfare shopping and seat-availability management, began in 1998 with five employees, but presently has 170 workers, Morse says. The firm numbers among its clients Orbitz, Continental Airlines, Alaska Air and other airline and travel providers.
The class A building, built in 1986, is owned by Intercontinental Real Estate and is about 80% occupied by tenants that include SmartRoute Systems, which provides real time travel information, and TKT, a pharmaceutical company. Morse declined to say how much the firm would be paying under the three-year lease arrangement, but noted that buildings in the Kendall Square area generally rent in the mid $20-per-sf range. Morse represented the tenant. The owner was represented by Tom Taranto an asset manager with Intercontinental, and Steve Purpura, with Richards Barry Joyce and Partners.
