The Olson project is going up on a 5.5-acre site along Harbor Boulevard at Truslow Avenue. Marlon Fenton, managing director for The Olson Co., calls "walkability" one of the keys to the development. He echoes what developers, planners and Californian residents have been saying for some time: Southern Californians are tired of long commutes and congestion, so they're looking for live-work solutions.

The project's location next to the Fullerton Transportation Center puts it adjacent to a facility where more than 350,000 passengers pass through yearly via Amtrak, Metrolink and the Orange County Transit Authority. An overhead bridge will provide a connector between the train station and the community.

The SoCo district is already home to more than 30 restaurants and pubs, about 350,000 sf of retail shops and other services. The Olson team on the project includes William Hezmalhalch Architects of Santa Ana and landscape architect The Collaborative West of San Clement.
