Ackerman's partners are Dr. Raj Pandya, an orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. David Jones, a pediatric cardiologist. The SouthCrest Medical Center, about 10 miles southeast of Downtown Atlanta, is being built near the junction of Interstates 75, 675 and GA 138. The joint venture partners selected the site to serve doctors practicing at nearby Henry Medical Center in Henry County and Southern Regional Medical Center in Clayton County.
Two of the three buildings under construction are already 50% leased to Georgia Cancer Specialists, Atlanta Knee & Shoulder Clinic, Georgia Pediatric Cardiology Associates and Kids First Pediatric Group.
Ackerman officials couldn't be reached by GlobeSt.com's publication deadline to learn more details of the project, but area construction sources tell GlobeSt.com most medical office structures today can't be built for less than $200 per sf, or generally $25 to $50 more than conventional class A office buildings.
