YORKTOWN, NY-Construction has begun on the new $80-million Barger Brook Manor adult condominium community here. Cappelli Enterprises of Valhalla, the developer of the project, has broken ground on the 140-unit development located at Barger Street on the southeast side of Route 6.
The project, which is being built on 50 acres, will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom units with prices starting at $495,000 for a one-bedroom, 1.5-bath unit, Cappelli officials say. The property includes protected wetlands and conservation easements. Some of the planned amenities include oak floors, granite kitchens, a health club, a sauna, a media room, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, lake views and walking trails. Preliminary offerings will be released this fall and potential buyers will be placed on a waiting list. The project is scheduled for completion by the fall of 2006, company officials say.
"With the aging baby boomer population, adult luxury housing is becoming a priority here in Westchester," says Cappelli Enterprises SVP Joseph Apicella. "We want to offer adults who are downsizing from larger homes, the same taste of luxury living they are accustomed to, but with the conveniences of condominium living to make life simpler."
Cappelli has developed more than 10 million sf of mixed-use, retail, waterfront, residential, office building, laboratory and parking facilities including City Center and the Trump Tower at City Center in White Plains, and New Roc City in New Rochelle. This year, Cappelli will begin construction of the Renaissance Square hotel-office-residential complex in Downtown White Plains, as well as the Trump Plaza development in Downtown New Rochelle.
