06/16/05: Is it superstitious to mention the term "housing bubble" out loud? As an experiment, I searched Google for that term, "housing bubble," and 350,000 items came up. Of course there was not nearly enough time to get through all of the listings, and many of the news items probably are more than a little dated. However, if there is so much copy being generated about--and lamented over--a housing bubble, could there be some merit to the issue? Housing prices increased 15% in the first quarter and many "experts" believe that this is a "paradigm shift" and this new creation of wealth is "here to stay." Where have we heard this before? And while we're on the subject, why is Google 's market capitalization now worth more than TimeWarner?
