The new addition brings the number of Holiday Inns in Georgia to 34 with a total 6,300 guest rooms. All seven InterContinental brands are operating in the state. The first prototype hotel opened in Duluth, 10 miles north of Downtown Atlanta, in January 2004.

"With the addition of this prototype to our portfolio, Holiday Inn has arrived at the perfect convergence of tradition and innovation that will define the Holiday Inn of the future," says Mark Snyder, senior vice president, brand management, Holliday Inn Hotel and Resorts.

Snyder did not disclose room rates or the development cost. However, area construction industry sources who have worked with developers on comparable projects tell GlobeSt.com the Brunswick Holiday Inn was probably built for about $100,000 per room. Jean Mullis is general manager of the new property which has a staff of 23 employees.
