The firm moved into 84 State St. overlooking Faneuil Hall under a five-year lease agreement that gives the business an additional 1,500 sf of office space in an amenity-rich building in a 101-year-old renovated property that considered one of Boston's "Jewelbox " buildings.
"84 State St is considered one of the premier B buildings in the CBD," William J. Crean Jr., first vice president at CB Richard Ellis/Whittier Partners, tells GlobeSt.com. Terms of the lease were not disclosed, but the property rents for between $29 and $31 per sf net.
Matt George, vice president of Lincoln Properties' Boston office, which manages the building for owner Invesco Realty Advisors, tells GlobeSt.com the location and amenity package, which includes 24-hour security, won over the new tenants. "It has all the first class amenities of a high rise," George says.
The 87%-occupied building is adjacent to Faneuil Hall and numbers among its tenants Tishman Construction Corp., the Massachusetts Pension Reserve Management Fund and the law firm of Weston Patrick Willard and Redding, a tenant since the office was first constructed 101 years ago. Crean represented the tenant in the transaction, while George handled the negotiations for Invesco.
