The increased volume of corporate real estate volume here, plus continued overall expansion of the company's Southern region, prompted the move, according to Neal B. Golden senior EVP and director of US operations for Newmark. Golden will be the managing principal and head this office. Patrick M. Duffy and Bert Sanders join him as managing principals.
Among the new brokers in this office are David A. Goldberg, a managing director that previously worked in Newmark's Midwest region; Shay Pope, a South Florida native and veteran broker here; and Matt Wanderer and Matt Papunen, new managing directors hired to lead the investment group.
Golden notes that Newmark has already handled significant South Florida deals. For example, it advised Burger King Corp. on its corporate headquarters requirements and relocation to a new facility in Coral Gables. Because of additional opportunities and "our own client demand," Golden says, "the company made the decision that it was in our own best interest to continue the expansion of Newmark into a permanent office in South Florida." Among its corporate clients with a Florida presence are AirTran Airways, ADP Inc. and the Bank of New York Co.
