WASHINGTON, DC-Signing a lease for the 16,000 sf on the ground-level of 3333 M St. NW, Artefacto has found a home in Georgetown. The Brazilian home furnishings chain will move into the 30,700-sf recently redeveloped Eagle building--the top half of which is occupied by a design firm--under a 10-year lease.
Ralph Tapiero of Sax Realty represented Artefacto in the tenant's transaction with property owner Eastbanc Inc., which was represented by its in-house team of Anthony Lanier and Marcie Connolly. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed; however Washington, DC is one of the hottest retail markets in the country. It ranks third out of 41 of the nation's major metropolitan markets on Marcus & Millichap's National Retail Index.
Artefacto will be surrounded by other furniture and design retailers such as Baker Furniture, Hollis & Knight and Waterworks in and near EastBanc's Cady's Alley. "This form of retail complements the area perfectly and it's a perfect fit for the building," Tapiero tells GlobeSt.com. Tapiero, Artefacto's exclusive representative for the DC-Baltimore region, is also on the hunt for additional space for the store, checking the area market for spaces of 10,000 sf to 15,000 sf.
