FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Comcast of Florida LP, a local affiliate of the Philadelphia-based cable TV giant, has sold the 35,000-sf commercial building at 644 S. Andrews Ave. for $6 million or $171 per sf. The buyer is identified as Legacy Development of Broward LLC.

David Wigoda and Steven Wasserman of the local office of Colliers International negotiated the transaction. They said the site is zoned for mixed-use and also will allow residential development, but the new owners plan to renovate the existing building for lease.

An historic building that dates back to the 1930s, the property located just south of the CBD was once a Coca-Cola bottling plant and distribution center. Selkirk Cable, prior to its acquisition by Comcast, acquired the building in the 1970s and used it for administration offices and a television studio.
