The site is at the intersection of Centinela Boulevard and Bluff Creek Drive, centered between Jefferson and Sepulveda boulevards. It is close to both the San Diego and the Marina freeways and within 10 minutes of the homes of nine of the Clippers players.

Clippers' EVP Andy Roeser says team owner Donald T. Sterling was the driving force behind the project. In addition to two full basketball practice courts, the facility will house athletic training, conditioning and locker room facilities, offices for basketball operations, meeting rooms, a player's lounge, a digital video production center and substantial space for working media.

Steve Soboroff, president of Playa Vista, notes that the Clippers project represents the first land sale in the campus area at Playa Vista and also will be the first NBA training facility in the City of Los Angeles. The team expects to break ground soon and to have the practice center ready by the fall of 2006.
