SPRINGFIELD, MA-Washington DC-based Danaher Corp. has put the 256,000-sf vacant industrial property at 116 Watson Ave. up for sale. The company is transferring this operation to the south.
The asking price is $3.7 million, or just over $14.45 per sf, according to Tim O'Callaghan of the Natick office of Philadelphia-based Binswanger, which is exclusive agent for the sale. The single-story property is located on 17.3 acres next to the Bay State Medical complex.
An original small portion of the building dates back to the turn of the century (1900s), and was the site of Moore Drop Forging," an historic steel foundry of that period, O'Callaghan tells GlobeSt.com. The majority of the building was added in the 1970s, he says, noting that the property also contains an outbuilding, originally used as horse stalls.
The building has ceiling heights up to 30-ft clear, six-inch reinforced concrete floors and variable column spacing. It includes 10,000 sf of office space, seven dock doors with levelers and an additional grade-level door and is fully sprinklered.
