Cates, who formerly was SVP of mortgage finance at Bentley Forbes, has been with the investment firm for seven years. His new responsibilities will include identifying acquisition targets, transaction processing and mortgage finance.
Cates has served in various executive capacities with Bentley Forbes during the past seven years, both in acquisitions and mortgage finance, notes David Cobb, president of the company.Since joining the firm in 1998, Cates has been directly involved in commercial real estate investment transactions valued in excess of $1.5 billion, primarily working on the acquisition, disposition and mortgage finance of office, industrial and retail properties.
Bentley Forbes, which is focused on acquiring multitenant class A office properties in major markets across the nation, formerly concentrated on single tenant property acquisitions in sale-leasebacks and net lease deals. The firm is now an active investor in the class A office, high quality industrial/warehouse and trophy retail property categories.
At Alvarez & Marsal, Aulabaugh has joined the firm from Huron Consulting Group, where he was responsible for real estate services on the West Coast. He specializes in providing strategic real estate counseling advice to a national client base including corporations, real estate investors/developers and major REITs.
Over the course of his 14-year career, Aulabaugh has advised on sale-leaseback opportunities, performed disposition management services, conducted due diligence in preparation of purchase negotiations and advised debtors and creditors on a variety of real estate issues.
