Miller Bros. Flooring Co. now occupies half of the 18-year-old building at 2009 McKenzie Dr., owned by Chicago-based First Industrial Trust Inc. The flooring covering company started a market search when First Industrial offered to negotiate an early-out with a document storage firm that "was on the hook with a couple years left on the lease," Nathan Denton with Henry S. Miller Commercial in Dallas tells GlobeSt.com. "And, it wasn't on the market."
Houston-based Miller Bros. signed a long-term lease after three months of talks, Denton says. First Industrial, represented by Mitch Pruitt, kicked in $2 per sf for tenant improvements, according to Denton.
