09/6/05: If there is one positive aspect of last week's horrific events in the Gulf Coast, it is that in time of crisis this nation still pulls together and sends help where it’s needed. The real estate community is doing its share by providing a network of help, and we've featured this on GlobeSt.com. However, this is not a time for self-congratulation but, rather, a time for reflection. There is already a good deal of finger-pointing and all the other acrimonius activities that will fill the airwaves for months, if not years. And there is apparently plenty of blame to share throughout every level of government. Yet, Americans are coming together--in spite of those pundits, politicians and other assorted media hogs who are yelling and not listening. Let's hope we tone down the rhetoric and play up the compassion.
