CARLSTADT, NJ-BDI-Laguna has signed a lease for 65,000 sf of industrial space at 350 Starke Rd. here. Also known as the Meadowlands Distribution Center, the building is jointly owned by Orix Real Estate Equities and Rreef Funds.

Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey has the leasing exclusive for the building. The ownership was represented by Stephen Elman and Jules Nissim of C&W's East Rutherford, NJ office, along with Frank Caccavo and Jason Goldman of the firm's Edison, NJ office. BDI was represented by Andrew Moss of Lee & Klatskin Associates of Teterboro, NJ. The lease was described as "long term," but the details were not released.

BDI-Laguna provides fulfillment and logistics services that deliver consumer electronics and computer products to retailers and resellers. "This new facility will enable us to maintain our momentum and stay in the community in which we started," says Joel Blank, executive vice president of BDI. Besides its local headquarters and distribution facilities, the firm has distribution facilities in Georgia and Nevada.

The center is a 334,175-sf, high-cube facility that was built on spec and completed last year on an 18.4-acre site. Medimedia occupies 140,000 sf and with the BDI lease, approximately 130,000 sf remains available. "The building offers one of a few new construction opportunities for big-box warehousing and high-tech tenants in the Meadowlands market, C&W's Elman says.
