According to the Madison, WI-based resort developer, the 400,000-sf resort will be a northwoods-themed development designed with an 80,000-sf indoor entertainment component, year-round waterpark, arcade and several restaurants. The Great Wolf Lodge is ticketed to open in mid- to late 2007.

The developer has picked up land at the intersection of Texas 26 and Business 114. "This location has a higher population within a 60-mile radius than any existing Great Wolf Lodge property," John Emery, Great Wolf Resorts' CEO, says in this morning's press release. Additional details about the development deal will be forthcoming.

Great Wolf Resorts has six resorts planned or under way in Pennsylvania, Ontario, Virginia, Ohio and Washington plus it's expanding its lead portfolio member, Wisconsin Dells. The resort developer's specialty is family-oriented destination facilities with 300 to 400 rooms and play areas of 40,000 sf to 100,000 sf.
