Carroll is the former SVP and director of development for locally based Levitt Commercial. Prior to that he was senior development manager at Stiles Development and development officer at Prentiss Properties. In all, he has developed more than 2.4 million sf of office and industrial projects and been involved with the acquisition and redevelopment of more than 2.8 million sf.
In his Panattoni post he will be responsible for supervising all activities related to project development, including site acquisition, design, governmental approvals, construction and leasing throughout the three counties. He will report to Greg Thurman, a Panattoni regional partner based in Atlanta.
"We've been looking at the South Florida market for some time now," Thurman says. "The area's dynamic growth obviously represented an enormous potential." With the hiring of Carroll, he says, "now we feel we're in good shape to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities represented in this region."
Sacramento-based Panattoni currently has 21 million sf of development planned for 2005. Over the past five years it has averaged nearly 10 million sf of development a year.
