Andrew Corp. opted for the auction route to make a clean break from Texas within weeks of announcing a plan to sell its Orland Park, IL headquarters and manufacturing location to Kimball Hill Homes for $28.5 million. The Denton sale will be held at 1 p.m. in the Marriott Dallas/Fort Worth Airport North at 8440 Freeport Parkway in Irving. Chicago-based Sheldon Good & Co. Auctions LLC's Houston team is in charge of the sale.

Steven Good, Sheldon's CEO, tells GlobeSt.com that they've already received "three or four" preliminary inquiries about the acreage from in- and out-of-state investors as well as local developers after launching a local, regional and limited national marketing campaign. "How that interest will manifest itself is too early to tell," he says.

Previously marketed by the Staubach Co., the land is zoned regional center residential, setting up development capabilities for commercial or residential use. Appointment-only property inspections will be held tomorrow, Oct. 7 and Oct. 21. The sites are located near the intersection of Mayhill Road and I-35 at Edwards Road. The 22.91-acre tract has a $200,000 minimum bid while the 5.27-acre parcel will open at $50,000.
