One, certainly, is how the government at all levels can respond more effectively. Another is how much we need to retool our energy policies. Right now, gas prices in New York top $3.00 a gallon and, most likely, we aren’t going to see a major rollback. Policymakers in Washington, DC have been talking a great game about developing new energy sources and freeing us from our dependence on fossil fuels. Well, as our legislators start visiting their home districts for re-election, they may start to see how vulnerable our economy is to the impact of energy prices, and that their jobs are just as vulnerable.

(BOSTON) Former associates Chelle Amaral and Matt Harvey are named assistant vice presidents in Cresa Partners' Boston office. The duo will be involved in site selection, strategic planning, market research, financial analysis, acquisitions and lease negotiations. Amaral will join the Downtown Market Group and Harvey will handle companies in the Route 128 market.

(CHICAGO) Jamie Donigan has been named to lead the Oklahoma bank's new commercial real estate lending office at 401 N. Michigan Ave. The 18-year professional previously worked as an underwriting consultant for KeyBank and Countrywide Commercial Mortgage.

(SAN FRANCISCO) Don Tepman becomes vice president of investment properties for Staubach Retail's Northwest Region. Tepman will be based in San Francisco, but is opening a satellite office in Campbell, CA to service the San Jose market.
  INTERSTATE HOTELS & RESORTS
(ARLINGTON, VA) Leslie Ng steps into the chief investment officer's role for Interstate Hotels & Resorts, getting oversight of acquisition activity, negotiating new investment opportunities and managing JV relationships as well as identifying new management opportunities. Prior to joining Interstate, the 25-year executive was senior managing director for Cushman & Wakefield Inc.
  MERRITT HOSPITALITY
(NORWALK, CT) Roger Aufieri is named COO and executive vice president of Merritt Hospitality LLC, an independent hotel management company and wholly owned subsidiary of HEI Hospitality LLC. Aufieri previously was president and COO for White Lodging Services, which managed and owned about 90 hotels.

(BOSTON) Stephen J. Lombardi and Christopher J. Landers join the firm as broker associates. Lombardi is assigned to the Downtown Group and Landers to the Suburban Brokerage Group. Lombardi previously was director of premium sales for Fleet Centre and account manager for Oracle Corp while Landers spent the past 10 years at Avid Technology as a sales professional for the broadcast industry.
