CB Richard Ellis' Bill Prutting assisted the owner, while Transwestern Commercial Services represented the buyer. Developed in 1985, Gateway Plaza last changed hands in 1998 for $3.5 million. According to Falls Church records, the buildings and the 2.6-acre parcel they occupy have a total assessed value of $9.3 million.

Carrying the addresses of 500, 510 and 520 Washington St., Gateway Plaza is located just blocks from I-66. Tax Analysts Inc. is the lead tenant at the 95% leased property, occupying about one-third of the space. The company, however, has committed to purchasing its own 75,000-sf headquarters less than a mile away on Maple Ave.
