PUEBLO, CO-L.B. Foster Co., based in Pittsburgh, bought a class B, 52,000-sf manufacturing facility in this city south of Colorado Springs from Boeing Realty Corp. The amount Foster paid for the building wasn't disclosed.
Twenty five percent of the building is designated for office and 75% for manufacturing and warehouse. The manufacturing area has an 18-foot clear height. Other amenities include a large training room, extensive IT infrastructure and handicapped accessibility.
Boeing Realty, based in Bellevue, WA, sold the building because it was part of the company's Delta launch vehicle assembly project. The Delta project was transferred to Decatur, AL. "We are pleased to see this building develop into a new opportunity for the Pueblo community to grow and prosper," says Denise Garcia, transaction manager for Boeing Realty, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chicago-based Boeing Co.
Boeing Realty is responsible for all aspects of real estate acquisitions and disposition, leasing and development of surplus properties worldwide for its parent company. Boeing Realty listed the Pueblo facility with Richard R. Kelly, who marketed it with Andrew C.Oyler. Both are with Grubb & Ellis.
L.B. Foster, the buyer, is a manufacturer, fabricator and distributor of products for transportation, construction, utility and energy industries. "This new facility positions us to better serve our railroad customers throughout the US," says Stan Hasselbusch, president and CEO of the company. He says the purchase will increase the company's presence in Pueblo.
