Deals for another 40 acres next to the Hamilton Chase subdivision from other retailers are pending, area retail sources tell GlobeSt.com. D.G. Jenkins Development Corp. of Suwanee sold the land to Wal-Mart for $333,333 per acre or $7.65 per sf, according to Gwinnett County real estate records.

Wal-Mart expects to have a staff of at least 350 when the new store opens in late 2006 or early 2007, brokers familiar with the retailer's expansion plans in the metro area tell GlobeSt.com. Wal-Mart spotted the Hamilton Mill Road site after noting the number of new rooftops on townhomes and apartment buildings in the general area, brokers who have done deals in the same area tell GlobeSt.com.
