BOSTON-The developer of Boston's long-vacant Fan Pier site will undertake another development project in the city's Roxbury neighborhood. Joseph E. Fallon, who last month took title to Fan Pier on the South Boston waterfront, also will develop Albany Fellows, a mixed-use project in Roxbury that has been in the planning stages for the last three years.

That project is a joint venture with the Community Development Corp.of Boston, headed by Marvin Gilmore and Brendan Feeney, president of Feeney Brothers Excavation Corp. Both men are Fallon's partners. Current plans call for the construction of 265 to 300 condominiums about 30,000 sf of office or research space and 9,000 sf of retail.

It will be located on 1.7 acres between Albany and Pleasant streets and Northampton and Pike streets near Boston Medical Center. Plans for the revised project are expected to be submitted to the Boston Redevelopment Authority in December. If approved, construction on the site could begin next year.
