In the La Mirada transaction, automotive components supplier Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. sold a 222,560-sf single-tenant building on 11.3 acres at 14500 E. Firestone Blvd. to heavy machinery moving specialist the Dunkel Bros. for $10.8 million. Rob Socci of Voit Commercial Brokerage reports that the seller is relocating to Mexico. Socci and Peter Castleton of Voit's Anaheim Metro office represented both parties in the transaction.
The sale helped Hayes Lemmerz eliminate a functionally obsolete facility and capitalize on the current market conditions, Socci notes. The building will serve as the new corporate headquarters for the Dunkel Bros., whose former headquarters in Anaheim was half the size of the La Mirada building.
In the Downey deal, Freeway Drive LLC bought a 159,992-sf two-tenant building at 12021-12023 Woodruff Ave. from Cambridge Leasing LLC for $7 million. ChrisMigliori of GVA Daum represented the buyer and the seller. The two tenants are plumbing parts manufacturer KMC Acquisition Corp. and the Kong Co., a toy manufacturer.
In the Baldwin Park transaction, Sares-Regis Group of Irvine sold a 26,806-sf building at its Baldwin Park Industrial Center to a furniture retailer that is selling another building in the same 10-building project in the San Gabriel Valley. Larry Lukanish, a VP with Sares-Regis Group's Commercial Investment Group, says buyer Leaders Furniture will use the building at 4951 Commerce Drive as a warehouse.
Sares-Regis was represented in the sale by Steve Bellitti and Tom Taylor in Colliers Seeley's Diamond Bar office, with Leaders Furniture represented by Tom LaPierre at Lee & Associates' Ontario office. Sares-Regis Group acquired the 450,928-sf Baldwin Park Industrial Center from Rreef earlier this year for $36 million.
