AURORA, CO-Intrawest Corp. recently signed a lease for 24,000 sf of warehouse space in Airways, a development at 2450 Airport Blvd. The direct lease with Principal Investors, the owner of the building, takes up the remaining space in Building One.

The facility will be used for storage and repair of equipment including skis, snowboards and clothing for Intrawest's multiple resort and retail operations in Colorado. In Colorado, Intrawest has development at Winter Park, Copper Mountain and Snowmass. In addition, it owns and operates the 50-store chain of BreezeMax sport retail and ski and snowboard rental shops that together have a total of about 60,000 sf.

The warehouse transaction included significant tenant improvement dollars, which will be used to construct a distribution system within the warehouse, says Brad Thompson, a broker with Grubb & Ellis, who represented Intrawest. "Airways represents a great location for Intrawest to consolidate and expand their operations, by providing great access meeting logistical and distribution requirements," Thompson says.
