"I suspect we'll have well over 350 people here," says Richard Kelley, director of the RealShare Conference Series for Real Estate Media Inc. "The registrations are flooding in and there are definitely a lot of last-minute folks signing up." The event takes place from 7 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Westin Galleria-Houston.
Real Estate Media Inc. president Jonathan A. Schein will be on hand to open the city's first RealShare session. Among the highlights is "Inside the Real Estate Mind," a frank question-and-answer discussion between former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier and Michael G. Desiato, Real Estate Media's editor in chief. The agenda calls for break-out sessions and forums, panel discussions and an interactive luncheon with topics ranging from transportation to TICs and everything in between.
In addition to the information and networking activities that will make up the event, Kelley says another attraction is presentation. "What we try to do is offer a little fun and entertainment with our subjects. It doesn't have to be boring," he points out. "We try, in various ways, to present the event with a certain feeling that makes it interesting and gets participants actively involved."
Given the overwhelmingly positive response to the program, Kelley says RealShare Houston is on the events calendar to stay. "We'll be coming back," he says. "We look to grow the event and to make it head-and-shoulders the best and most important real estate networking event for the market."
