WASHINGTON TWP., NJ-Matrix Development Group is set to start work on a 147,000-sf expansion project at its Northeast Business Park here. According to Alexander B. Taylor, the Cranbury-based company's COO, the local planning board has approved his company's plan to add the space to Lifetime Brands' existing building.
The addition will boost Lifetime Brands' total space up close to 700,000 sf. Matrix built the tenant's current 550,000-sf warehouse/distribution facility in 2000. Matrix expects to have the expansion, the cost of which has not been released, completed during the first half of next year.
Lifetime Brands is a designer and marketer of a range of nationally branded consumer products. Among its brands are Calvin Klein, Cuisinart, Daniel Boulud Kitchen, Farberware, Hoffritz, Joseph Abboud Environments, Nautica, Pfaltzgraff and Stiffel, among a number of others.
Northeast Business Park and Matrix's other development at Exit 7A of the New Jersey Turnpike, Matrix Business Park, have a combined potential of six million sf of additional light industrial space, according to Taylor. The company has built more than three million feet at the 400-acre Northeast Business Park for such companies as Sleepy's. Bohrens/United Van Lines, Levitz Furniture and WW Grainger.
