McCarthy Building Cos. of Atlanta is the project's construction manager. The Washington, DC architectural firm of Ellerbe Beckert is the project architect. KLMK Group of Richmond, VA is the program manager. The first construction phase at the hospital's main campus will encompass an emergency room, intensive care unit, cardiology services, women's center and overall building improvements.
For the past 12 months, design and planning firms Morell & Associates of Northbrook, IL and Engberg Anderson Design Partnership Inc. of Milwaukee have worked out a planning and programming system for the project, says hospital president and CEO Jerry Fulks. The new consulting team will work with Morell & Associates to develop a construction strategy and set up a fixed budget for the expansion.
