The increase in sales for the busiest shopping day of the year has been tagged at approximately 5% over 2004. An increase in revenue is a good thing any time of year. However, what ingredients make up these increases? Most holiday shopping comes from the deep discounts presented as bargains by retailers. A better indicator of economic health might be the number of units of electronics and pieces of garments sold versus last year. Yes, the 5% is great news, but the shopping season isn't over yet, and ultimately, it will be more important to see how much merchandise actually moves.

 (FRISCO, TX) David Nachman advances to vice president of the structured finance group. He joined the company two years ago as an asset manager and financial analyst.

 (RALEIGH, NC)  Bob Barton comes on board as real estate manager and Jimmy Poole is hired as a sales associate. Barton, with 18 years' experience in property management, has been assigned to the First Industrial portfolio. Poole will focus on acquisitions and dispositions for small to medium-size investors in office, multifamily, industrial and net-leased properties.
  US EQUITIES REALTY
(CHICAGO) John Lynch is named vice president for the advisory services group. He will manage real estate advisory, acquisition and disposition assignments for corporate, institutional, municipal and not-for-profit clients.

(ATLANTA) Bill Bollwerk is the new managing director of development for the Atlanta division, hired to oversee multifamily development in Georgia and Florida. For the past year, he was a director for Wood Partners' Arizona and Nevada territories.

(KANSAS CITY, MO) Mac Crowther becomes principal and founding partner of the new office, the firm's 12th location in the Central Region. The 20-year professional previously was principal of the institutional investment group for Grubb & Ellis Co.

 (FLORHAM PARK, NJ) Jonathan Cohen is seated as a director for Maryland, Delaware and Northern/Central New Jersey region. He most recently was vice president and director of operations and marketing for Garden State Equities.
