Emeritus holds interests in 18,650 units in 185 communities in 35 states. In 2003, Emeritus sold and leased back 24 assisted living facilities in 13 states. The buyer was Nationwide Health Properties Inc. The sale price was $187 million. The value of the leaseback was not available.
